Joe grew up surfing in Southern California and has always been inspired by the ocean and outdoors. After receiving his BA in Marketing from Northern Arizona University and studying abroad in Newcastle, New South Whales, Australia, he moved back to San Diego with a wealth of surf travel and experiences under his belt.
As time went on he decided there needed to be a way to keep the feeling he got from traveling and surfing with him even after the actual experience had faded to a fond memory.
After sketching and jotting down the waves and inspiration that he got from traveling, surfing and exploring; he approched reknowned jewelry carver Mary Armatis to help bring his vision of quality hand carved jewelry to the board sports industry.
